In December, after our Korean exchange term ended, my friends and I flew over to Osaka for a short trip! It was my virgin experience in Japan, and I was truly amazed by this country.

OSAKA

We spent most of our time in Osaka, choosing to have a chill-like trip instead of rushing around to visit as many sites as we can. We went to places like Shinsaibashi, Dotonburi, Osaka Castle, Golden Pavilion, Raman Museum etc. The landmarks and sites in Japan are truly exquisite and beautiful, and I can’t wait for my next trip back to this place and explore the other cities! My favourite things about Japan would be the Daisos, 100 yen shops, the candies, and the CONVENIENCE STORES. The convenience stores are filled with so much food, like onigiris, bentos, desserts, drinks - I could practically live in one. Japan is just such a interesting yet beautiful, beautiful country.

NARA

We had a one day trip to Nara, where we spent it with deers and beautiful parks and temples. A lovely place with beautiful scenery, and only a relatively short train ride away from Osaka!

KYOTO

Kyoto is truly a magical place. The shrines are amazing. I felt as if I was transported into another world when I was in Kyoto. If only we had time to try on kimonos/try to be geishas. Nevertheless, the sights were jaw dropping, and I’m glad I bought back numerous trinklets to remind me of this place.
